Importance of Arts Education for Early Childhood

Basically, art is a game that gives pleasure inner (spiritual), both for the work of art as well as for those who enjoy it (Rohidi, 1985:8). Art with a variety of uniqueness is often compared with a beginning, and both are highly related activities (Ross, 1978). At the age of 5-12 years of reasoning is very excited to work of art, because art play activities provide flexibility and freedom for children to express feelings or expression. When reasoning rose, art should be prepared to give way for him to be received as his favorite activities (Read, 1970:283). Hence used as a media arts education, arts education and position as a field of study in public schools to be very useful. The importance of art education for young children, namely: (1) Improve brain development in children.
Brain growth occurs when children aged 0-12 years. This makes the provision of nutrition and stimulation for brain development is still needed, even after the age of 12 years. The need to form left and right brain development in a balanced manner intended to produce an optimal intelligence. Left brain function for children's development: - Controlling the motion capabilities and functions of the right body - Controls the ability to speak and write - Controlling the language skills and pronunciation - Controls the ability to analyze and penganmbilan decision - Set up logical thinking - Controlling the numeracy skills The function of the right brain for children's development: - Controlling the motion capabilities and functions of the left body - Controls the ability to think conceptually - Understand simple language or conversation kereatifitas - Set the musical ability and fisualisasi - Control of memory - Development of imagination and creativity for children Art education plays an important role for the development of the right hemisphere of the brain for children. Art education is education that is able to turn the expression of fantasy, coach dexterity think that accompanied the sharpness of appreciation of the natural surroundings and the environment where children are. (2) Develop a habit of children to express themselves. 
 Early childhood relished streak crossed out. Activities streak strike is part of motor development of children, so with the encouragement of teachers and the opportunities presented, the child will be motivated to make a picture. Drawing is one way children express thoughts or feelings. In other words, the picture is one of the ways children express themselves to others to be understandable and understood.
